THE CHALLENGE
Washington-St. Tammany Electric (WSTE) Cooperative, Inc. serves the areas of Washington, St. Tammany and Tangipahoa Parishes and the southern part of Marion County in Mississippi. We pride ourselves in providing the best service at the lowest available cost. Their old website served its purpose to an extent however, it employed antiquated forms, dreary graphics and did not provide its visitors with much information. WSTE approached JD Web Studio with a request to redesign the site to make it more visually appealing and a better resource for their visitors. Additionally, they wanted a robust database component incorporated into the site to maintaine their extensive list of customers.

OUR APPROACH
Our first goal with the new WSTE website was to engage visitors with a captivating new look. For this we employed a rotating slideshow of videos. The immediate visual of dark blue and stormy skies captures the visitor's interest and holds them. Throughout the site, we utilized a sepia-toned look to the headers to give the site a modern yet old-town look that goes with the home-town feel of the Washington/St. Tammany area. To boost the form functionality for the site, we integraged Formstack for customer service applications as well as employment applications.
THE RESULT
WSTE's new website was a great success and continues to be so. It's bold new design was a big hit with the board of directors as well as WSTE visitors. The simplified menus made the site much easier to navigate and the electronic forms have increased the companies sign-up efficiency tenfold.
